Kenny Rose, CFE

Founder & CEO

Kenny has worked with over 600 franchise brands in more than 100 industries. As an expert on franchise evaluation, he is able to identify the best ways to deploy capital into franchise ownership to maximize return on investment and operations. Kenny is a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE), with the International Franchise Association (IFA).

After getting his degree in Financial Services from San Diego State University, Kenny started his career at Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor. While there, he earned his FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and worked with high-net-worth individuals, helping them grow and preserve their wealth.



With a desire to help people build and grow wealth through entrepreneurship, Kenny joined the world’s largest franchise brokerage. He helped people learn about franchising, recommended specific franchise options based on their criteria, and coached them through the evaluation and purchase process. He then founded Semfia, a franchise brokerage focused on income-producing and manager-run franchises.

Kenny’s views on franchising have been featured in Business Insider, Forbes, ABC, The Hustle, American Express, the Amazon feature book, “More Than Just French Fries,” and other publications worldwide, in total reaching over 300 million people throughout the world.

Brandon Sellers

VP of Marketing

Brandon has over 10 years of growth marketing experience across fintech, consumer products, e-commerce, mobility, and B2B SaaS. He has developed expertise in building growth programs from the ground up at early-stage venture-backed companies, while helping them achieve product-market fit.

Prior to joining FranShares, Brandon was the Head of Growth at Gridwise, where he led the team that scaled the company from nearly zero to 400,000 users, using growth tactics 
such as paid acquisition, SEO, content, and influencers, among others.

Prior to Gridwise, Brandon founded his own growth agency, which served more than 50 clients while reaching $450k ARR.

Brandon holds a Bachelors of Accountancy from the University of Northern Illinois, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Brian Sigal

Head of Investment and Operations

Brian is a seasoned investment and operations strategist with over 10 years of experience in banking, fintech, and startups. He leverages his expertise in financial services, deal sourcing, structuring, and negotiation to drive strategic growth and sound investment opportunities for all stakeholders.

At PNC Bank, Brian played a pivotal role in corporate banking, advising businesses on expanding through acquisitions and new business line explorations, and his portfolio includes deals for prominent franchises such as Krispy Kreme, Wendy's, McDonald's, and Burger King.

As VP of Business Development at Gridwise, Brian led operations and finance teams to scale the company's revenue significantly. He transformed business strategies into tangible results through cross-functional expertise, cross-selling products, and leading legal and analytical efforts.

Brian has a deep understanding of sophisticated financial instruments such as asset securitizations and broker-dealer collaborations, demonstrating his versatility and depth of knowledge in high finance. He is skilled in handling transactions of all sizes, from under a million to hundreds of millions of dollars.

While completing his MBA at Carnegie Mellon University, Brian spent a summer at BlueTree Venture Fund working on venture capital investments in the medical technologies, software, and high-tech instrumentation industries. His unique blend of skills enables him to apply his understanding of banking and finance to the dynamic world of franchising investments.

Emily Norwood

Senior Marketing Coordinator

Emily is a Senior Marketing Coordinator at FranShares. She manages social media and works with the team to execute ongoing marketing campaigns.

Emily graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations. She laid the foundation for her career in marketing and public relations by working on a strategic PR campaign for an international nonprofit organization and gained experience with social media management in a variety of industries including nonprofit, consumer, and tech. Emily was FranShares very first intern and was brought on full-time upon graduation.

Michelle Kamper

Operations Associate

Meet Michelle, our Operations Associate and the newest member of our FranShares team.

Michelle has more than a decade of experience in the tech startup and real estate industries. Her strong background in growth initiatives and process optimization has honed her expertise in strategy, business development, and operations – building highly organized operational functions from the ground up – which has enabled her to play a vital role in driving efficiency and success within an organization.

Before joining FranShares, Michelle was Senior Operations Manager at Zumper where she gained experience managing a team of employees and contractors across multiple departments, while also spearheading cross-departmental collaboration and continuous process improvements. Michelle’s strategic approach, along with her growth initiatives and operational protocol, resulted in significant cost savings and enhanced overall productivity for Zumper.

Michelle's blend of operational acumen and tech startup insights, combined with her talent in implementing scalable, data-driven solutions, makes her an outstanding asset to FranShares. Known for her ability to bring calm to chaos, we're thrilled to have Michelle on board.

Hans Pusch

Co-Founder & Board Director,

Hans is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer & Board Member at Ampler Restaurant Group, with over 450 locations across the country and are top five in system sales for Taco Bell, Little Caesars,  Burger King, and Church’s Chicken. He previously served as a Principal at Agman Partners, where he oversees the firm’s private capital practice. Prior to joining Agman, Hans was an investment manager at DRW Holdings LLC. (DRW), where he managed a family office fund focused on opportunistic investments in private equity, venture, real estate, and high yield credit.

Stuart Larkins

Co-Founder and Partner, Chicago Ventures

Stuart is an entrepreneur, investor, and digital marketing expert with more than twenty years of experience leading tech companies and startups in Chicago. He is a Partner at CV and a member of the Investment Committee.

In 2011, he co-founded Chicago Ventures, a seed stage venture capital firm, with a focus on investing in undercapitalized tech ecosystems in the Central US. At CV, he oversees all aspects of the firm including fund management, deal sourcing and investing, and working directly with portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Chicago Ventures, Stuart’s digital marketing career was focused on early stage startups. He was Senior Vice President and part of the founding management team at Performics, a pioneer in affiliate and search engine marketing.  During his eight years at Performics, he helped lead the business through rapid growth and subsequent acquisitions by DoubleClick, Hellman & Friedman, Google, and Publicis. Stuart was also involved in many online advertising industry groups and associations, such as the IAB, Yahoo Search Advertiser Council, MSN Search Committee, and the Google SEM Council.

In addition to his involvement with Chicago Ventures, Stuart is the Founder and Managing Partner of Twin Capital, where he is an investor in early-stage interactive marketing service and technology companies.

Jeremy Hirsch

Co-Head of Franchise Investment Banking, Houlihan Lokey

Jeremy is Senior Vice President of the Consumer, Food & Retail Division of Houlihan Lokey, where he advises some of the top franchisors and franchisees across multiple name brand systems. For those who aren’t aware, Houlihan Lokey is the leading global middle market investment bank and has been ranked number one in deal volume for the past ten years.

Over his career, Jeremy has executed more than $5B in deals across the consumer retail space. He will be instrumental in ensuring that FranShares sources, vets, and showcases the best franchise investment opportunities to our investors through fundamental analysis, benchmarking, and screening of the best opportunities.

Moody Nashawaty

Head of Strategy, MuteSix (Acq)

Moody is a visionary strategist and accomplished business leader with a wealth of experience in the digital marketing industry. As the former Partner and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of MuteSix, a top-notch performance marketing agency acquired by Dentsu, Moody played a crucial role in steering the company's strategic course and propelling its growth.

Joining MuteSix in 2015, Moody brought a deep understanding of digital marketing and a zeal for helping brands maximize their online potential. As the CSO, he crafted and executed data-driven marketing plans that yielded tangible outcomes for a diverse clientele, spanning startups, e-commerce brands, and established enterprises.

Thanks to Moody's strategic guidance, MuteSix became known for its inventive performance marketing tactics, using state-of-the-art technologies and imaginative campaigns to boost customer acquisition and engagement. Sean Fannan

Co-Founder & CTO, Chartboost (Acq)

Sean Fannan is co-founder and CTO of Chartboost, a technology platform for mobile developers to find new users and monetize their games. Chartboost works with over 32,000 games, serves over 12 billion game sessions per month and has raised $21M from Sequoia Capital and other investors. 

Prior to Chartboost, Fannan was one of the early employees at Tapulous, that was acquired by Walt Disney in 2010 to become Disney Mobile.

Dan Rutberg

Dan Rutberg is a highly experienced entrepreneur and business leader who excels in the digital marketing world. He co-founded MuteSix, a top performance marketing agency, and as the COO, played a key role in the company's rise to success in the digital advertising space.

Starting MuteSix in 2014, Dan aimed to transform how brands engage with audiences using data-driven marketing tactics. Under his guidance, the company quickly became a reliable partner for businesses looking to enhance their online presence and achieve tangible results.

Under Dan's direction, MuteSix received multiple industry awards, including a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies. Dan's contributions to the industry were also recognized through various leadership accolades.

Before MuteSix, Dan held numerous leadership roles in marketing and technology, refining his skills in strategic planning, team management, and business development. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from UCLA.

Dan remains a significant figure in the digital marketing community, sharing his knowledge as a speaker at conferences and events. He also actively mentors and advises budding entrepreneurs, helping them tackle the hurdles of creating and scaling successful businesses.

Tony Cappaert

Co-Founder & COO, Contactually (Acq)

Tony Cappaert is the Co-Founder and COO at Contactually, a CRM software company that was acquired by Compass in 2019. He currently is the Head of Lead Generation and Strategic Growth at Compass.

Tony regularly speaks and writes about startups and best practices for professional services.  He has appeared in The Washington Post, Slate, TechCrunch, VentureBeat and other publications.

Tony was previously a product manager at Microsoft and an investment analyst for an impact investment firm. Tony is an MIT alumnus and currently lives in Washington, DC with his wife, two kids, and energetic puppy, Tucker. He loves hiking, camping, and drinking great beer.

Cody Barbo

Founder & CEO, Trust & Will

Cody is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Trust & Will. Since starting Trust & Will in 2017, he has worked endlessly to make estate planning an affordable and inclusive option for all American families. Before founding Trust & Will, Cody was Founder and CEO of Industry, a ‘LinkedIn’ for the service and hospitality industry. As a volunteer, Cody serves on the San Diego State University Alumni Board of Advisors, and Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity’s National Foundation Board. At home, Cody is married, a father to a daughter, a dog dad, and loves to cook, exercise, and mentor other entrepreneurs in his spare time.
